The building’s southern orientation and lucky position below two potable streams allow the residents to live entirely off the grid year round. More photos.

On first impressions ST-House by Japanese architects PANDA looks like an original idea designed to solve the problem of overlooked rooms in closely spaced, suburban properties. A breeze block wall surrounds the ground floor, letting in reflected, as opposed to direct, sunlight. There is where I imagine the problems to begin, with windows set at such a low level I imagine the occupants will begin to feel like giants in a dolls house whilst the breeze block walls, combined with the outer leaf of the home will soon begin to act as a vessel for collecting rubbish brought in by the wind.
